The Club expands its agreement to carry out VCF Camps in Lithuania
Valencia CF have reached an agreement with FK Zalgiris Kaunas to strengthen their ties with the Lithuanian club with whom they have organised VCF Camps in Kaunas in recent seasons, and which will continue over the next three seasons.
A long-standing partnership
The collaboration between the Valencia CF Academy and the Kauno Zalgiris Football Academy began in 2021 when the first VCF Camp was held, which since then has taken place every summer with more than 400 children taking part in these latest editions.
“We have been working with Valencia CF in recent years and we did not want to miss this opportunity. Valencia CF is a great organisation that opens pathways both for our coaches and for the players in our academy,” says Linas Treigys, Technical Director of the Kauno Zalgiris Football Academy.
VCF CAMPS IN KAUNAS
“The VCF Camp in Kaunas generates a lot of interest every summer, so we will continue with it in the coming years,” he states in relation to a VCF Camp that in 2026 will take place from June 29 to July 3, in which young players from all corners of Lithuania will take part, carrying out a complete training programme where they will get to know better the methodology of the Valencia CF Academy, a reference in Europe in the development of players to compete at the highest level.
“For me, this is not just a collaboration with Valencia CF; it means much more. After living two years in Valencia, I am deeply grateful for everything I learned there and for the people I met, linked both to the city and the club,” says Linas.
“I am very happy to be able to bring the Valencia CF camp to Kaunas, to help spread the name of Valencia CF and to continue learning and improving every day,” he adds. “It is also a great opportunity to involve the players and coaches of the Kauno Zalgiris FA in the learning process, gaining valuable experience through the Valencia CF methodology, as well as to showcase the organisational development of the Kauno Zalgiris FA.”
Helping partners grow
“For Valencia CF it is a pleasure to establish this agreement with Kauno Zalgiris FA, with whom we have already been working in recent years in different VCF Camps. Our objective as a club is to continue growing at an international level and to help our partners grow,” says Luis Martínez, Director of the VCF Academy.
“At the Valencia CF Academy we are very aware of the growth of Lithuanian football and we maintain close contact with the Lithuanian Football Federation due to the presence of some of our players in the youth national teams, such as Dominykas Taucas (Valencia CF U19) with the men’s U19 or Paulina Mockuté (Valencia CF Femenino U18) with the women’s U19,” he highlights.
COACH EDUCATION
The link between Valencia CF and the Kauno Zalgiris Football Academy has also allowed several Lithuanian coaches to take part in the III VCF Academy Coaches Convention, a coaches convention of the VCF Academy Programs that brought together coaches from different countries in America, Europe and Asia. On other occasions, coaches from the VCF Academy have travelled to Lithuania to deliver different clinics and training sessions to support the development of local coaches.
In addition, Kauno Zalgiris FA took part in the VCF Academy World Cup, where they were crowned champions in its first edition.
vcf academy programs
The VCF Camps that Valencia CF organises regularly in different countries and also at the Ciudad Deportiva form part of the VCF Academy Programs, which help expand the Club’s brand image across strategic markets in America, Europe and Asia.
The VCF Academy Programs, organised each season by Valencia CF, include a wide programme of activities in which more than 5,000 players and 400 coaches from over 50 countries around the world take part, allowing them to better understand the playing methodology of the VCF Academy.
